Flag Trivia
You have one last chance to play Flag Trivia on Rugby Broadcasters. Join us Friday morning at 9:25 on KZZJ and KKWZ and listen for that morning's trivia question. If you think you can guess the answer, call us at 776-5254, and a new American flag will be given to a lucky winner who guesses correctly.
Hints about questions to come: Now you'll have to wait until Friday morning for the actual trivia question, but if you'd like to prepare in advance then here are some things to expect/bone up on for the remaining questions. For Aug 15th's question, keep your eyes peeled in the beginning of an old tv show about an ill-fated 3-hour tour.
Winners to date: Kyle Halverson, for correctly guessing Betsy Ross didn't design the current American flag (that was Robert G. Heft in 1958). Amber Selensky, for correctly guessing a rattlesnake is on the Gadsden Flag, right above the words "Don't Tread on Me." Linda Reamer for guessing South Sudan, compared to the US and Denmark, has the youngest flag in terms of adoption--having done so in 2010. (Denmark is the oldest of the three, with first use in 1625). Candy Munyer for correctly guessing that flags on the right arm of military uniforms are reversed, symbolizing the flag going forward in battle. Jeremy Miller for correctly guessing that not every country's flag is rectangular in some way (Nepal's flag looks like two triangles put together.) Mary Voeller for correctly guessing there are four countries with guns on their flags (those countries in question are Mozambique, Haiti, Guatemala and Bolivia). Dave Denich for correctly guessing the largest US flag ever made to day is on display in Wisconsin (it measures 225'x505' and is in Sheboygan)
